FRESHWATER
and
BLACKGANG CHINE

Freshwater was once the home of Alfred Lord Tennyson, who wrote much of his work while looking out over Freshwater Bay.

The bay has a small beach and a large car park and is the ideal starting point for cliff-top walks, such as the Tennyson Trail to the Needles.

Freshwater is the main shopping town for local residents and unlike many towns in West Wight is open all year round.

An 18 hole golf course is superbly situated on the downs above Freshwater Bay.

The Fat Cat Bar hosts one of the largest beer festivals in Hampshire with over 100 different real ales to tantalize your taste buds.

Between Freshwater Bay and Blackgang Chine you will find The Wight Mouse Inn overlooking the magnificent Chale Bay, Tennyson Down and the Needles.

The Inn offers everything for your comfort including peaceful gardens and plenty of parking spaces. With a childrens play area its the ideal place to stop for your lunch before heading on to Blackgang Chine.

Blackgang Chine is one of the biggest attractions on the Isle of wight, with its superb rides or tranquil walks there's something for all the family, from Nursery land for the young to Cliff Hanger for the brave.

With free re-entry within 7 days (Just sign your ticket on entry and resign when you return) you may need two trips to see it all.
